The hunting app built for Canada, not adapted to it

Most hunting apps started in the United States and added Canada later, so they speak in public land, hunting areas and state seasons. CANhunt starts from the Canadian side: crown land, Wildlife Management Units, LEH and draw zones, and the regulations each province and territory actually publishes.

That means all of Canada, not a handful of provinces. Boundaries, season dates, bag limits and closed areas are loaded for every province and territory, and what you download works with no signal. See how CANhunt compares in our guide to the best hunting apps in Canada.

Not heading out yet? Open it in this browser.

CANhunt runs at canhunt.app with nothing to install. Scout crown land and WMU boundaries on a full-size screen, and the spots you mark are on your phone when you leave.

Finally an app that doesn't try to be a social network. Just maps, regs, and weather - exactly what I need in the field.

I used to carry a binder of printed regulations. Now I just pull out my phone. The offline maps are a game changer.

The boundary overlays alone are worth it. No more second-guessing which WMU I'm standing in.

Questions hunters ask before they install

Short answers. The long ones are in the blog.

Is CANhunt free?

Yes. Interactive maps, weather & conditions, regulation lookup, HuntIntel sheets and spots & notes are free. Pro is $9.99/yr and adds offline maps, track recording & GPX, trail cameras and crown land & advanced layers.

Is CANhunt available on iPhone and Android?

Yes. CANhunt is on the App Store for iPhone and iPad and on Google Play for Android. The same account also works in a web browser at canhunt.app, so you can plan on a laptop and hunt with your phone.

Does the hunting app work offline, with no cell signal?

Yes. Download satellite and topographic maps for a region before you leave, boundary overlays included, so navigation, zone lookup and your saved spots keep working in the bush where there is no coverage at all.

Which provinces and territories does CANhunt cover?

All 10 provinces and all 3 territories. Boundaries, season dates and regulations are loaded per province, from Ontario and Alberta through British Columbia, Quebec and the Maritimes to Yukon, the Northwest Territories and Nunavut.

Does it show WMU boundaries and crown land?

Yes. Wildlife Management Units, LEH and draw zones, no-hunting and no-discharge areas and crown land are drawn over satellite imagery. Tap any point on the map and HuntIntel tells you which zone you are standing in and what is open there.

How is CANhunt different from US hunting apps that also cover Canada?

CANhunt is built for Canada first rather than adapted from a US product. It uses Canadian terms and Canadian data: crown land rather than public land, WMUs rather than hunting areas, provincial regulations taken from government sources, and coverage of every province and territory rather than the few with the most downloads.
